The Reflection Assignment experience
Generally, reflections are broken down into parts. There is the pre-reflection, at least one mid-reflection, and then the final reflection. As a student, running a reflection session will allow you to reflect on course experiences, such as co-ops and broader course aspects, in a more impactful and concise way.
β
InStage uses voice AI to guide you through a structured reflection on your co-op experience, similar to having a guided conversation. These calls are designed to help you think about your co-op experience before it starts, reflect while you are in the role, and look back on what you learned after it ends. The goal is to help you set goals, reflect on your progress, and understand how you have grown over time. There are no right or wrong answers. Just be honest and speak naturally.
Please note: Reflection calls will be made available to you at different times throughout your course. You will have the option to schedule the call at a time that is most convenient to you, within the expected call window.
For your assignment, you will be asked to complete a series of reflection phone calls using InStage.
What you can expect:
Baseline Reflection Call (Before Co-op)
This first call helps you think about what you expect before starting your co-op. You will be asked about what you hope to learn, what skills you want to build, and what goals you are setting for yourself. This call captures your starting point.
Important note: If you have already started your co-op, please answer the questions as if you were just about to begin. Think back to what you expected, what goals you had, and what you were hoping to get out of the job. Do not answer based on how things are going now. This helps us understand your original goals.
2. Mid-Term Reflection Call(s)
This is a quick check-in during your co-op. You will talk about what is going well, what has been challenging, and what you are learning so far. This is a chance to pause and reflect while you are still in the experience.
3. Wrap-Up Reflection Call (End of Co-op)
This final call helps you look back on your co-op experience as a whole. You will reflect on what you learned, how your skills changed, and whether you met the goals you set at the beginning. This call helps you put your experience into words and prepare for what comes next.
